Uruguayan hyperrealist Elena Molinari was born in Montevideo, but since 1996 has been working as a Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Madrid.
Molinari mostly works with oil on canvas, her hyperrealistic works often inspired by old masters such as Pieter Claesz and Christoffel Van Den Berghe. She is well known for her still life paintings of vases and fruit bowls but is also popular for her glossy, highly finished works of crumpled coca-cola cans.
She has found much success both in Spain and abroad, with exhibitions in Italy, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, China, Colombia, Chile, United States, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay.
